On Rolling out a WOM/Social Media Strategy...

Let's say that you are called upon by your company to lead the creation of a Word-of-Mouth strategy that leverages social media tools.

Where to begin?

Been thinking about it and will roll out the 6 steps that I would propose. Let me know your thoughts.

First off, got to position it.

We have two challenges in front of us.

The first is to determine if and how we can create a positive Word-of-Mouth (WOM) experience around your (new) product.

The second is dependent upon successfully completing the first. It is to figure out how to exploit social media technologies to amplify these experiences to acquire new customers.

In short, we want to:

1. Do something that is worth talking about

2. Make it easy for our customers and prospects to tell their friends about it

Can we accomplish this?

The truth is, we don’t know. But here are some ways we can go about discovering the answer.
